TOP 5 MOST BEAUTIFUL BEACHES IN THE WORLD

Since we started travelling full-time in October 2018 (learn more about how we did this by watching this YouTube video), we have had the opportunity to go to some of the world’s most beautiful places and witness some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. In this article you will get to know what our top 5 most beautiful beaches in the world look like. This list is in no particular order.

Ready? Let’s go!

1. KELINGKING BEACH – NUSA PENIDA, INDONESIA

This secluded, white sandy beach with turquoise waters is located on the island of Nusa Penida. This island is just a short boat trip away from mainland Bali in Indonesia. It is enclosed by gigantic cliffs on both sides and is without a doubt one of the most beautiful places we have ever been to. The only downside is that the beach isn’t easily accessible: a long and steep hike is required. On top of that the waves are so big and powerful that swimming isn’t allowed here.

2. LUCKY BAY – CAPE LE GRAND NATIONAL PARK, AUSTRALIA

A beach with powdery white sand, mesmerising blue water and kangaroos hopping around freely? That’s Lucky Bay! Located in the Southwestern part of Australia in a National Park, Lucky Bay is easily accessible by car (you can even drive your 4×4 on the beach if you have a permit). It’s the only beach that made our jaws almost hit the floor when seeing it for the first time.

3. ANSE SOURCE D’ARGENT – LA DIGUE, SEYCHELLES

The most photographed beach in the world is also one of the most beautiful beaches we’ve been to. Coincidence? I think not! On top of the standard white sand and turquoise water needed to make it on our list of best beaches in the world, here you’ll find a beach surrounded by lush jungle landscapes and impressive granite boulders. Located on an island with not a single car, this is the perfect spot for a real Crusoe experience. Want to see more beautiful beaches in the Seychelles? Then check out this article we wrote!

4. GILI LANKANFUSHI RESORT – NORTH MALÉ ATOLL, THE MALDIVES

This beach is only accessible for the hotel guests of one of our favourite hotels in the world. You can book it here. We hesitated to add it to the list, but it’s too beautiful not to make it in our top 5 of the most beautiful beaches in the world. It’s our favourite beach to relax on and the only beach in this list where you have a butler delivering cocktails. The fact it’s located in the middle of the Indian Ocean is just a cool bonus. We’ll just let the pictures do the talking for this one…

5. PINK BEACH – KOMODO ISLANDS, INDONESIA

We know we said white sand was a requirement to make this list, but this is the exception that proves the rule! This pink beach in the Komodo Islands is situated on an uninhabited island which is only accessible by boat. The beach gets its unique colour from microscopic organisms called Foraminifera. They produce a red pigment of the coral reefs and mixed together with the white sand, it creates a pink colour. It’s just absolutely stunning!
