GET READY FOR A LIST OF FUN STUFF TO DO IN LA
Los Angeles, our favourite West Coast city! When we talk about where we see ourselves living in 5 years, L.A. always makes the list. But what exactly is there to do as a tourist? Read further and you’ll find 11 things everyone must do when in LA! 1. MELROSE TRADING POST ON SUNDAY
If you’re in LA on a Sunday, there’s only one place you should go: Melrose Trading Post. Every Sunday you’ll find a big flea market where you can find the best vintage pieces, so it’s basically a must for every thriftshop lover!
2. TAKE A STROLL ON SANTA MONICA PIER
The famous Santa Monica pier is definitely a must when you’re in LA for the first time. It can be very crowded here but it’s nice to stroll on the pier and watch the sunset.
3. HIKE THE HOLLYWOOD SIGN
This one is easier said than done ;-). It’s quite a hike but it’s beautiful and absolutely worth it! There are different paths you can take, depending on your fitness and how close you want to get to the sign. Getting close to the Hollywood sign is hard, but if you make it you’ll get rewarded with a beautiful view and a stunning photo opportunity!
4. HAVE LUNCH AT THE MALIBU FARM
Be prepared to wait in line to get a table here! But we promise, once you get the menu, you won’t be able to decide what to get! It’s so delicious! Especially the cauliflower pizza, yummm! If you’re staying in Malibu in the evening, definitely drop by Nobu’s, which is just down the road and has some of the most amazing dishes! 5. GO TO EL MATADOR BEACH IN MALIBU
One of the most beautiful beaches in LA for sure! This beach is famous for its photoshoots and every time we come here, there is at least one wedding shoot or shoot for a fashion brand going on. Last time we were here, they were even recording a music video! It’s definitely the perfect spot to watch the sunset (and take pictures obviously).
6. SEE THE FAMOUS VENICE SIGN AT VENICE BEACH
Venice Beach is a really cool place and it’s probably most famous for the oldschool sign 😉 Once you get your photo there, rent a bike (or a skateboard) to discover the Venice Beach area. Make sure to stroll on Abbott Kiney Boulevard, because there are so many cool shops here!! We absolutely love this street! Last time I was just shopping next to KJ APA (from Riverdale) , so definitely a cool spot 😉 Two places you definitely can’t miss when in Venice Beach is ‘The Butcher’s Daughter’ for lunch or a coffee at ‘Great White’.
7. DO SOME (WINDOW) SHOPPING ON RODEO DRIVE
One of the most famous shopping streets in the world… and that’s mostly because of movies like ‘Pretty Woman’ 😉 You’ll find most of the upscale boutiques here, but even if it’s the end of the month and it doesn’t fit the budget, it’s still nice to just walk around and do some window shopping! 8. SEE ALL THE FAMOUS MURALS ON MELROSE AVENUE
Besides all the cool stores and vintage shops, this street is probably most famous today for its murals (such as the famous ‘Pink wall’). Below you’ll find a few places to stop if you are interested in these kind of walls:
– B&W mural x Retna – 8826 Melrose Ave
– Pug mural – 8807 Melrose Ave
– Alfred’s coffee – 8509 Melrose Ave
– Made in La – 8025 Melrose Ave
– The Pink Wall – 8221 Melrose Ave
– Angel Wings – 8401 W 3rd Street (this one is NOT on Melrose, but it’s a very famous one, so just adding this one for the one’s interested in murals!)
9. DRIVE UP TO MULHOLLAND DRIVE TO GET THE BEST VIEWS
Mulholland drive is one of the roads in the hills where you can spot a lot of celebrity homes! But the best part is definitely the view you get from up there! We sometimes get pizza, drive all the way up and enjoy a little picnic in our car while watching the lights of the city! For us this is definitely one of the most awesome things to do in Los Angeles!
10. VISIT GRIFFITH OBSERVATORY
This is probably the most famous spot to see the City of Angels from up the hills! As a result it might be a little crowded, especially as it’s easy accessible by car and the Griffith Observatory is a gorgeous building (and famous from the LA LA LAND movie). Definitely worth a visit!
11. EAT A BURGER AT INN-N-OUT
Saving the best for last! While it may not be the most awesome thing to do in Los Angeles, it’s definitely one of the tastiest ones! We promise you these are the best burgers you’ll ever have in your life! Get everything ‘Animal Style’… You won’t regret it ;-).
